I want to see a Mummy!

Do you want to see a mummy? Well you can! They put mummies on display in the Asaro Caves in Papua, New Guiena. Thousands of years ago Egyptians carved tombs near the Nile River. Later two brothers named Ahmad and Hussein found about 40 mummies in the tomb. To me that would scare me find about 40 mummies in a cave! I wouldn't really know what to do! Did you know that all living things decay after death at some point, I also forgot to tell you that a mummy is a dead body preserved or embalmed with the use of spices, gums bitumen or natron (which is a kind of salt). But that's just the scientific term.

Mummification of Animals

Animal mummification?! That's right you can mummify animals! Any kind of animals from cows to even mice. The Egyptians believed that the cult had special powers like all of the gods. For every animal it takes 70 days to mummify them, just like a human. Did you know that you can mummify your pet when you are being mummified to whether its alive or not? Don't you think that's kind of freaky that they mummify animals? I never knew they were so important to the Egyptians.

How Mummification changed the way of Egyptians

Some people became obsessed with death! Why would you be obsessed with death.. I thought death was suppose to be a bad thing not a good thing? The reason why is, they wanted there afterlife to be just as good as there earth life. There were two spiritual parts of life. The first was the Ka, spirit double, the second the Ba, which was the spirit of your personality.Isn't that a little bit weird that some people became obsessed with death? They believed that death was a getaway and led to the afterlife where they would live forever. I just have one ting to say about that there a little bit crazy if they believe that, now i don't know about you.

Natural Mummification?!

Now your thinking what is natural mummification? I thought there was only one way to be mummified? Well there's three but I'm only going to tell you about one, natural mummification. There's a couple ways for natural mummification to happen. One of the few is chemical process or the effect substances have on each other. This can occur in wet places, spongy land, and last but not least marshes. Most often natural mummification happens in extreme temperatures, like very cold or very hot weather. Weird right? I was going to tell you just about one but theres another way. Self made mummification! They are made by yourself when your still alive! I mean that would hurt.. but I'm not sure that they did the same steps.

Give me the Steps to Making a Mummy!

Hello there! I'm sure you have thought about mummies and making a mummy right? Well the people in Egypt would make mummies when somebody died.. they did this thousands of years ago but not anymore that would just be disgusting! The first step they would do is wash the body natron salt. I mean who would want to wash a dead body.. I know I wouldn't. The second step is to take out the brain, now beware this is gross for how they took it out. They would make a hook and just dig it out and the parts that didn't come out they would turn the body to the side and the rest would come out of the mummies nose. I mean common that's not right! The third step is to cut open the abdomen and take out all of the organs except the heart an the kidneys. What they would do with all of the other organs is they would leave them to shrivel up and then push them into these Canopic jars. The fourth step was to pack the body with natron salt and let it dry for 40 days. Where would you put a dead body for a month and a half?? Yes it takes awhile to make a mummy but there's only two more steps. The fifth step is to rub the body with oils then cover it with pine resin to stop it from molding. The last step is to rap the mummy in some kind of cloth like linen cloth and then seal it in a resin and bury the mummy. You would also put the Canopic jars with the mummy when you bury the mummy.
